Wooden Spoon - Overhauled !

Hello Friends ...

Its April - Harvesting Season for many states in India .. For Kerala, its Vishu ...

Vishu reminds me of കണിക്കൊന്ന (Kani Konna - also known as the golden shower tree )

 

So inspired by Kani konna , here is my New year gift to all.

Altered Wodden Spoon 

I had a Wooden Spoon with me and I wanted to Quill over it !!!

I painted it with Acrylic paint - Yellow , as I love the colour.

I first thought of just hanging it by attaching a rope or twine to the handle.

I didn't like the idea
1. Quilled object catches dust if not framed or kept in a box.
2. I wanted to use my laser cut clock and Ganesh :)

So Here is the Final look of the Quilled Altered Wooden spoon !!!!!
Doesn't it remind you of Kani Konna ???

Quilled Card !!

I am quite excited about the new Sizzix Bigshot  I got ..  I used an embossing folder  ... Embossed the card..

Rubbed  Distress ink -Aged Mahogany on it - very Lightly ..

And Quilled over it  :)

A DieCut Box

Hello Friends ..

I have been wanting to tryout a box made using Diecut.. The idea is inspired by Ms.Rajni Chawla.. I remember reading a tutorial by her on this..

When I got my Sizzix - BIGSHOT I was very happy - Finally I can try this out..

I have a pictorial Representation of it below ..

1. I have chosen Oval shape .. First Cutout 4 Ovals . Make a Box using the same colour Paper.
  
2. Stick the Ovals onto the outside of the Box.

3. Punch holes on the sides of the Oval and Tie Ribbons

4. Cut a long strip of paper and wind it with Ribbons and stick it as a handle to it ..

5. Decorate it as You want  !!

This is how It will look  !!!

My son graduated from his Nursery class..I got a whole lot of craft items which he did in his class..

Among them where his hand print which I treasure a lot .. I wanted to keep it with me as Memories ..

Card # 1 - Once upon a time ..

Hello ...

This is the my first Card made using Stamps and Distress inks only ...Also its the first time I have ventured out of my Quilling zone .. :)

I fell in love with cards thanks to the lovely cards by Ms Rajni Chawla ... I spent a lot of time on Rajni Di's Tutorials and You Tube ... Finally Di's page in Facebook  -- Crafter'sDen gave me the courage and inspiration to keep my baby step into Card Making..

So Here is my first Card ..

The card is self explanatory .. Not at all complicated ..

Vintage Collections !!

Hello ,

This has been inspired by Rupa S , who loves to recycle and reuse  things from day to day life .. The outcome of it is soo pretty that u would want to do it too ..

So here is my Vintage collections ...

I used the tissue roll which gets left out once the tissues are used up ... I wrapped them up in nice patterned papers , embellished it with laces and beads ...
It is now ready to be used to keeps Stationary items :)

 

The Flowers are handmade using papers from an old book .. There are a lot of tutorials available in net to make these flowers ..

The Piglet !!

Hello :)


I have been quilling forsometime . Its usually flowers which I do . an I love flowers a lot :)
I wanted to try something which was not floral... I came across this picture of a Piglet and decided to quill it  :)

Theme: My Piglet in the Garden .. 

My piglet is standing on a rock and enjoying the beauty of nature..

There is a Bird, a butterfly and a little bug too.

I wanted to share a simple yet cute  Jewellery box  which i use to store my earrings ...

I bought a MDF box sometime ago ... I coloured it Blue .. Yes I love the colour BLUE !!!

Added a cute little lace on the side and decorated it with pearls . On the Lid I placed three flowers -- Yes! its my favourite  flower and I love making it ..

I am using it to store my earrings !!  :)
