A Paint Brush Holder !!

Hello Friends ,

Am in the process of arranging my Craft room . Its a clutter :) !! ( Am sure we all have clutter on i our desk )
I never tend to get my things I want in this mess . So I Finally decided I have to give a place for all my Goodies.! First a place for my brushes  ! <3

I had old Milkmaid tin with me which I had decided to alter it to a holder !!

I am a Self taught Artist  !! I was at awe with the way wooden articles were transformed using decoupage papers .. Now I didnt have a clue as to how i can go about it :) Ha..Its Youtube to my rescue !!
Watched numerous videos and finally thought would give it a try ..

I had the old Milkmaid tin with me and a colourful tissue paper (I didnt use Decoupage napkin nor did i use modpodge ). I went about applying Fevicol around and pasting Tissue paper.. You would have guessed what happened . Yes !! I got a new texture( The Tissue started to stand out as it started sticking to my fingers, brush .. It was a lovely Mess! )  . Was quite heart broken about it .. Then I realised " There is no right or wrong in ART .. Its how u perceive :) "  Viola !! I again went about giving a coat of Golden Acylic. Once it was dry , I decorated it with a lovely lace around its neck. Tied an Orange ribbon around it .

Am a Passionate Quiller , So the flowers and leaves are quilled. A few beads on the centre of the flowers .
Behold ! A beautiful Paint brush holder is ready !!
Hope u Liked my Cute little Holder ..

Thanks for stopping by !!
Hugs,
Remya

Bejeweled - Altered Bottle !!

Hello Friends ,

Bejewelled .
Treasured art for your home, or a unique gift for someone special!

In the new project I have altered a Beer Bottle . I really went over board with the stones and Buttons and Laces to get the Bejewelled look :)

I want to confess that it was an experiment . I wanted to try whether Gesso will adher to bottles .
I watched loads of tutorials and finally gave it a try  .
I got third time lucky . Yippee !!!

Gesso can be adhered to glass bottles  . It needs to be mixed with Glue - Fevicol.

I havnt taken any pics as I wasnt sure whether it will come out the way I wanted it ..

First I started with sponging Gesso onto the bottle . Gave Multiple layers of it  . Sponging , why not Brushing  ?? Sponging gives a unique texture which I liked  :)  Once it was dried up , I gave a coat of acrylic colour ( Potrait Pink ) to it randomly and not evenly coated.

I Just Love Laces . I go crazy with them and have hoarded a few . I took out one of them and stuck it around the bottle. I tied a lacy ribbon over it and made it to a bow . The Base and the neck also has been covered with laces . You can see the Big Red Button adhered on the Lacy Bow. Butterfly has been stuck on a spellbinders dies cut - shapeabilities. Below the Butterfly you can see a Silver sparkling branch kind on which it is sitting, its a Earring of mine which I made it flat :)

Then I started decorating the bottles with handmade flowers . These are punch flowers and not die cuts . I have put lots of butterflies and dragonflies along with it .Next I added strings with stones embedded , to give the Jewel look to the Bottle on the whole .

You can see a Big Gem like Button sitting on the mouth of the Bottle..!!

The Key is the Focal point .Its also altered by sticking Stone strings around it .. .
I just Loooved the way it has come up ..

Hope you like it too  !!

Decoupage Tissue Box !!

Hello Friends ,

Now Facebook is one place where we see numerous art forms / techniques.
One caught my attention for long . Its a page Yelling Yellow by Divya Thallop
Exquiste, Glam , eye catching boxes which she creates using the technique called Decoupage.

Decoupage (or découpage) is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it in combination with special paint effects, gold leaf and so on .

I kept on looking it for long wishing I could do it. Art is something which can be learnt from tutor or can be learnt from experimenting on your own .
Now I love to experiment. I started looking at the tute on decoupage and facebook page of Divya Thallop who has shown ways of doing it in her pages too .

I saw my friend Nandini come up with lovely trays from the classes she attended .

Finally with her help I Decoupaged a tissue box and loved the way it has come up..

The MDF box  was from a local store near my house .
Patterned Paper is from Itsy Bitsy - Bangalore ( My dear Nandini got it for me  :)   )

Hope you liked it  !!

Thanks

Remya
