Hello Friends ,
Wishing you all a very happy New year !!!! XOXO
A New Year and A New beginning ..
So here is my first project for the New Year .. I have made something for my DAD !!
I got a very very Old paper (dated 1976) of my Dad when he was working in India Post and Telegraph Dept . Currently its Bifurcated as MTNL and BSNL and India Post ..
I have given a makeover to a Cardboard Box , in which this Precious , Timeless Document will be placed and hope my Dad Loves it ...
These are the Items I am going to give a face lift :)
To start with , I had 4 sides to take care of .. The Front, Back and the Interiors.. I wasn't sure whether the cardboard will hold on all the Distressing, embossing and Stenciling I would do .. Hence I cut 3 Sheets of Patterned Paper to size an worked on it ..
The entire work is highly influenced by Tim Holtz and Finnabair.. I had ordered a lot of stencils (TH , Crafters workshop and Prima) from my Crafty friends here ..
So lets start the Journey .. Yes It was a long journey for me - Testing New Techniques as I never had tried Stencil and Heat Embossing and The Mixed Media ....
First I gave a coat of light Gesso on the PP from We R Memory keepers . Pasted the Gauze on the PP. Added patterns using Prima (Sunrine and Sunset ) and TH Measurement Stencils .
I applied Distress Ink ( Walnut stain , Tea dye and Antique Linen ) through them with the ink blending tool . I applied the Tea dye on the entire Paper too , with edges distressed with Walnut stain.
Again Layered Patterns using The Harlequin stencil and Numerals from TH .. This time I blended Acrylic Colour Brown .. Stamped around with Prima Cigar box secrets timber texture and BoBunny Pattern stamps ... I added Washi tapes to add volume to the Cover page .. Then I placed the Die Cut Clock which I had distressed with Black soot and crackled using TH Distress crackle paint . I also treated the old telephone embellishment too similarly . I gave it a golden colour on it to get a antique brass finish ... Finally gave an outline using water colour pencil ..
The dates are stamped , then placed on Corrugated Cardboard and Burlap .. Love the Burlap .. Hope its visible . .. Poor Lighting ..
Next was the back cover which I kept it simple .. I applied Distress Ink ( Walnut stain , Tea dye and Antique Linen ) . Splashed some water using my fingers to get the smudge feel .. I stamped the TH Stampendous Anonymous stamp " Live the Life you have Imagined " - An apt wording for dad ..
Next was the Inside Page . I kept It super Simple .. Just made a pattern with Prima Bubbles Elementals Stencil .. I had a wooden clock frame which I had heat embossed with white embossing powder and added TH distress powder for the rusty old look ..
The base held the Timeless Precious paper dated 1976 . It was placed on a corrugated cardboard and on the edges a placed Gauze cloth . The 1 inch border around had Prima Sunrise Sunset stencil on it.
I left it white to compliment the white Gauze .. I also added 3 Tags clipped so that Old memories can be noted and read in leisure ...
Hope everyone enjoyed this Old and New journey along with me ..
Thank you ..
Hugs
Remya
