Heritage ...

Hello Friends ,

Browsing through the old Pictures of  Mom and Dad , I came across a Picture : People visiting a Heritage Site.. No one remembered where the place was,  as it was quite old .. May be dated 1970's..

Old Memories ... I love to dwell in it ...

And I found an empty Ferrero Rocher Chocolate box lying by ...
I Love it ( Correction : WE love it )  :)

AM Back to altering a Ferrero Rocher Chocolate box  .. Oh ! Sorry.. Nothing left to offer though .. :)

I was going to give it a usual kind of make over : sticking Patterned papers , embellishments and some stamped words kind ..But then ,Why not try something out of my comfort Zone ( I Never Like getting my hands messy ) I know what you think " How can a crafter not get Messy Fingers ?? "  So I resolved to get this mind block out and gave it a Vintage , Shabby look ..

I went about giving a generous coat of Gesso over the entire box. Then applied Grunge paste using Memory Box Stencils: Flourish over the Lid and around the Base of the Box .. I added one more layer of Texture paste with Stripes Stencil by Tim Holtz on top of the Flourish on the Lid ( Some how the Flourish was not perfect ).

Once entire box was dried , I sprayed Lindy's Summer Loving Sun on the Box and Caribbean Blue on the Lid .

Now for the Vintage look .. I applied Black , Brown and Red acrylic on the raised surface and gently wiped it off using baby wipes ..  I did this till I got the desired result ..

I colored  the trims and flowers  too with the Acrylic : Black and Red to give a Burnt look.

The Wodden MDF Frame was given the same treatment of : Texture paste , Black acrylic and loads of Perfect Pearl - Gold to give a Golden hue to it  .. It does Sparkle .. !!!

I cut 2 Oval Ornate frames using the Sizzix Ornate frame die.. Distressed it using Frayed Burlap. On one side I stuck a MDF Telephone booth and on the Other side I wrote AVJ using Correction pen ..

I have kept this very simple as I wanted to enjoy the Lovely Texture of Flourish and Stripes and the Vintage feel  ..

Hope you liked this humble box of mine .. Planning to fill it up to brim with TIM embellishments ..

Loads of love to AVJ for its first Anniversay ..

Hugs
Remya

Mini Album

Hello Friends ..

Making your own mini albums gives you such a sense of accomplishment. I had tried it many times . Different types , Different Models..

Mini scrapbook albums are actually not that difficult to make, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when I complete one and feel how easy it really was ...

This is a Wallet Shaped Mini Album ..

I have made 2 of the same kind ..

Happy crafting .

Enchanted

March.. The summer starts... Mercury starts to hit its peak and more time indoors! More time indoors means more I see my craft stock... my tools... Start IDEATION and here comes a box made out of scrap. Yes, the base materiel for this box is a sweet box lid.. Only this was spared after we feasted on the Kaju Kathli !!!

Procedure :

I measured the Sweet box lid and cut 2 chipboards one inch bigger than it for the base and the top flap. and 1 chipboard for the spine.

Chose any card stock and stick the chipboards : Flap , then spine , then base : in this sequence on it.
While Sticking the base be careful to leave a small space at both end , so that you can bend it for the flap to move around .

Once this is done .. we can use any pattern paper of choice and cover it again . I choose Vintage collections.

Cover the Box too with PP of your choice .. Stick it on the chip board meant for the base.

Viola  .. The Box with Flap lid is ready ..

Now comes the decoration part ..

The Spine was first covered with DCWV PP : " Memories never Melt " I love those words ..
On it I placed Red Mesh cloth . Added a bead string on it ..

Its a white crochet lace that I  converted into the Red  flower base  ..

I have converted  the Bottle Cap into an embellishment .. I gave a dash of Alcohol ink to the Cap.  I loved he way it came out .. Just added  a zing to the Box..

The Butterfly was cut from Burlap .. Coloured it blue ..

The Spine bind has a beautiful Green Ribbon Bow I made  ...

Hope you liked this Sweet Box ...

Happy Crafting  .

Dream ...

Hello friends ,

I wanted to share a new altered bottle I made ...

Feels like summer when I look at it .. I have been trying my hand on making blooms .. I have failed many times. This time I feel I got it right and I liked it too ( for a change:)  ) .. So pop it comes on my Bottle  :)

I started with applying tissue paper all over the bottle . Was not very keen on smoothness though :)
After it dried up completely, applied a coat of Gesso . Then painted it yellow.. Once it was dried, I gave a light brown touch on the uneven surface using hand . So we get to see yellow and muddy brown ..

Used Tim Holtz stamp on a white cardstock  paper and used it the center piece .. Added pearls around it .. The Blue flower was apt for this bottle . I handmade it  :) I also placed a Bird Charm on it .. I love this corner piece ..   Added the tussle around the bottle neck ..

Its a very simple project .

Hope you like it :)

Thanks for stopping bye .

Hugs,

Remya

Spring on a Jar

Hello Friends ,

Its already March .. Time flies by so quickly .. Took  a small break due to Son's ill health and am back to  my Art and Craft world ..

This time I decorated a small cute little jar . I use it to collect beads , pearls and cute little buttons ...

It was so plain, that I thought I would brighten it up ..

Yes its a Pearl pet jar . Small Cute little ones .. :)

I tied up a Green lace / Ribbon around the lid .  Now the lid will look like a mini Garden itself :)
I had collected dried up grass from our garden which I placed along with the  Die cuts of leaves. The Centre flower is made of Sola wood ...

For the Base before going for the Green I went around with a Pink Washi Tape and then pasted the Green lace a bit displaced .. Thats for the Pink line to be seen . Looks great !!  I had a Button which fell of a Shirt and a broken earring . I combined both to make the embellishment on the  ribbon ..

Sweet and Simple ..

Happy crafting ..
