Hello Friends ,
Browsing through the old Pictures of Mom and Dad , I came across a Picture : People visiting a Heritage Site.. No one remembered where the place was, as it was quite old .. May be dated 1970's..
Old Memories ... I love to dwell in it ...
And I found an empty Ferrero Rocher Chocolate box lying by ...
I Love it ( Correction : WE love it ) :)
AM Back to altering a Ferrero Rocher Chocolate box .. Oh ! Sorry.. Nothing left to offer though .. :)
I was going to give it a usual kind of make over : sticking Patterned papers , embellishments and some stamped words kind ..But then ,Why not try something out of my comfort Zone ( I Never Like getting my hands messy ) I know what you think " How can a crafter not get Messy Fingers ?? " So I resolved to get this mind block out and gave it a Vintage , Shabby look ..
I went about giving a generous coat of Gesso over the entire box. Then applied Grunge paste using Memory Box Stencils: Flourish over the Lid and around the Base of the Box .. I added one more layer of Texture paste with Stripes Stencil by Tim Holtz on top of the Flourish on the Lid ( Some how the Flourish was not perfect ).
Once entire box was dried , I sprayed Lindy's Summer Loving Sun on the Box and Caribbean Blue on the Lid .
Now for the Vintage look .. I applied Black , Brown and Red acrylic on the raised surface and gently wiped it off using baby wipes .. I did this till I got the desired result ..
I colored the trims and flowers too with the Acrylic : Black and Red to give a Burnt look.
The Wodden MDF Frame was given the same treatment of : Texture paste , Black acrylic and loads of Perfect Pearl - Gold to give a Golden hue to it .. It does Sparkle .. !!!
I cut 2 Oval Ornate frames using the Sizzix Ornate frame die.. Distressed it using Frayed Burlap. On one side I stuck a MDF Telephone booth and on the Other side I wrote AVJ using Correction pen ..
I have kept this very simple as I wanted to enjoy the Lovely Texture of Flourish and Stripes and the Vintage feel ..
Hope you liked this humble box of mine .. Planning to fill it up to brim with TIM embellishments ..
Loads of love to AVJ for its first Anniversay ..
Hugs
Remya
